Sub-Saharan Africa's slowdown calls for stronger policy response - IMF

The International Monetary Fund has expressed concern over the efforts being taken by various African countries towards accelerating economic growth. IMF predicts that the region will achieve the least growth in 20 years of 1.5 per cent in 2016, and urges governments to take prompt action to address the large macroeconomic imbalances and policy uncertainty in some of the Sub-Saharan Africa's largest economies. CNBC Africa's Charles Gitonga spoke exclusively to Abebe Aemro Selassie, Director of the African Department at the International Monetary Fund.
